Numbers tell part of the story. But the real impact of Rich Off Education is measured in the moments you can't put on a spreadsheet — a student's face lighting up at a museum exhibit, a parent tearing up at a graduation ceremony, a volunteer coming back month after month because they believe in what we're building.
Still, the numbers matter too. And in just our first two years, Rich Off Education has built something worth talking about.
By the Numbers
Since our founding, Rich Off Education has:
- Reached 70+ students through direct programming and events
- Hosted 7 major community events serving hundreds of families
- Built 5+ community partnerships with local organizations and schools
- Launched monthly community clean-ups at Marquette Park
- Developed the ROOTS Curriculum — a culturally responsive educational framework
- Earned recognition from Memphis Metropolitan District 7
But behind every number is a story. Here are some of the moments that define our impact.
Civil Rights Museum Field Trip (February 2025)
One of our earliest and most powerful programs was taking students to the National Civil Rights Museum at the Lorraine Motel in Memphis. For many of our students, this was their first time visiting the museum — even though it's right here in their city.
Walking through the exhibits, students didn't just learn about history. They felt it. They stood where Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. stood. They saw the lunch counter sit-ins, the Freedom Rides, and the March on Washington brought to life. And they connected those stories to their own lives and communities.
One student told us afterward: "I didn't know all of this happened right here. It makes me want to do something important too."
That's the power of experiential learning. That's why we do what we do.
Safe Streets, Smart Steps Summer Camp (Summer 2025)
Our summer camp program brought students together for a week of learning, leadership, and community engagement focused on safety awareness and civic responsibility. Students participated in:
- Team-building activities and group challenges
- Presentations on community safety and leadership
- Outdoor activities and field experiences
- Creative projects and collaborative learning
The camp wasn't just about keeping kids busy during the summer. It was about giving them purpose, connection, and skills they could carry into the school year. Students left the program with new friendships, new confidence, and a deeper understanding of their role in their community.
Easter Egg Hunt (2024 & 2025)
Our annual Easter Egg Hunt has become one of our most beloved community events. What started as a simple holiday celebration has grown into a full community gathering — complete with games, prizes, family activities, and of course, hundreds of eggs.
But beyond the fun, the Easter Egg Hunt serves a deeper purpose. It brings families together. It introduces new families to Rich Off Education and our programs. And it shows our community that we're here — not just for programming, but for connection.
Melodies & Masterpieces Resource Fair (2026)
Our most recent major event, the Melodies & Masterpieces Resource Fair, combined arts, music, and community resources into a single, vibrant experience. Families had access to:
- Educational resources and program information
- Community organization booths and services
- Live music and creative activities
- Direct connections to R.O.E. Academy enrollment
The resource fair was designed to meet families where they are — providing real value while introducing them to the opportunities available through Rich Off Education and our partners.
Marquette Park Community Clean-Up (Ongoing)
Every second Saturday of the month, our team and volunteers gather at Marquette Park in Memphis for a community clean-up. From 10 AM to 11 AM, we work together to beautify the park, pick up litter, and engage with neighbors.
The clean-up isn't just about keeping the park clean. It's about showing our students what community stewardship looks like. It's about modeling the kind of civic engagement we want them to carry into adulthood. And it's about building relationships with the people who live in the neighborhoods we serve.
Since launching the initiative, we've seen consistent volunteer turnout, growing community participation, and a visible difference in the park's condition. It's one of the simplest things we do — and one of the most meaningful.
TN Nonprofit Network Summit (February 2025)
Rich Off Education was represented at the Tennessee Nonprofit Network Summit and Day on the Hill in Nashville, where we connected with nonprofit leaders from across the state, participated in advocacy discussions, and strengthened our network of partners and supporters.
Being at the table matters. And we're committed to not just serving our community locally, but advocating for the policies and resources that support youth development statewide.
What's Next
Our impact is growing — but we're far from done. In the coming months, we're focused on:
- Launching the Fall 2026 R.O.E. Academy cohort with our strongest curriculum yet
- Hosting the 2nd Annual Back to School Bash to kick off the school year
- Expanding our community partnerships to reach more students and families
- Growing our volunteer base through Marquette Park clean-ups and event support
Every event, every field trip, every Saturday session is building toward something bigger. And with your support, we can reach even more students who deserve these opportunities.
Want to be part of our next chapter? Apply to R.O.E. Academy, volunteer at an upcoming event, or make a donation that directly funds student experiences. Together, we're proving that when you invest in young people, the returns are immeasurable.
